Creative Colour Challenges - #142

 Good Evening Everyone,

As you may or may not know - I run the Creative Colour Challenges blog. Each week three Stampin Up Colours are randomly selected and I ask you to create a projects using those colours! Some week's are easier than others - but what I do find is that there's a lot of inspiration given from those who participate, so I thought that on a Sunday, once I have announced the Winner of the Week's Challenge over on Creative Colour Challenges Blog, I'd hop on over here and share the entries with you in the hope that we can give everyone some more inspiration, and I will link to those I can (as anyone can enter, you don't have to have a blog or a website), so It's also my chance to share there work and show some support.

Enduring Beauty Happy Birthday Card - Spotlight Stamping Technique.

 Good Afternoon Everyone,

Today I'm bringing you another card using the Enduring Beauty Bundle. This bundle is so versatile and I've created so much with it already - with plenty more items yet to come!

I wanted to try out some spotlight stamping with this image, and I have a card coming up soon with the standard technique but I thought this principle would work with the largest open flower.

What do you think?

Measurements

Basic Black Card Stock

1pc - 4 1/8" x 11 3/4", scored at 5 7/8"

1pc - scrap

Basic White Card Stock

2pc - 3 7/8" x 5 5/8"

1pc - scrap

-------------------------------------------------

Take the Basic Black Card Stock and fold along the score line to create your card base, adding one of the Basic White pieces to the inside.

Ink up the large floral image from Enduring Beauty in memento ink and stamp onto the remaining piece of Basic White. Ink it up again and stamp onto a scrap piece - this one doesn't have to be a full image - but you do need to make sure you get the full flower head that will be coloured in.

Once the ink is dry bring in your Gray Granite & Smoky Slate Blends and colour in the full stamped image. Use the coordinating die and your Cut & Emboss machine to cut it out.

Now take your Melon Mambo Stampin Blends and colour in the full flower head you stamped on scrap. Once coloured in, fussy cut carefully. Then adhere this directly above the exact flower on the grey coloured image with dimensionals.

Add this whole piece to the card front, placing it centred, but slightly towards the top.

On a scrap of Basic Black stamp the sentiment from Attention Shoppers in Whisper White Ink, trim and add slanted edges, to create a little interest. Then, place this on the card front below the image.

It's a super simple idea and a great way to get a WOW from your card.

Textured Floral 'You make me Smile' Card featuring the new In Colors.

 Good Afternoon Everyone,

Today's card is made from a selection of scraps! You may have seen a card I made last week using the new 2024-2026 In Color DSP in a patchwork style card. Well I had a few extra Hexagon punch shapes left over, so in true frugal style I've taken them and created another card.

This one is much more of a clean and simple style, but I love how it turned out and I get such satisfaction in being able to use up 'leftovers'.

What do you think?

Measurements

Thick Basic White Card Stock

1pc - 5 7/8" x 8 1/4", scored at 4 1/8"

Basic Black Card Stock

1pc - 3 3/4" x 5 1/2"

1pc - scrap

Basic White Card Stock

1pc - 5 3/8" x 3 5/8"

1pc -scrap

Shy Shamrock Card Stock

1pc - scrap

2024-2026 In Color DSP

scraps

------------------------------------------

Take the thick Basic White Card Stock and fold along the score line to create your card base.

Layer the Basic White card to the Basic White piece and add to the card front.

Cut out 3 Hexagon Shapes from scraps from the 2024-2026 In Color DSP - I used Peach Pie, Petunia Pop and Pretty In Pink - using the Heartfelt Hexagon punch. Roughly ink around the edges of these shapes with the same colour ink as the paper.

Arrange these three hexagon shapes towards the left hand side, overlapping them to fit.

Bring in your Cut & Emboss Machine and using the leaf image die from Floral Textures cut out the following -1x Basic Black and 1x Shy Shamrock.

Adhere these together with the black behind, offsetting them so that it look like there's a shadow.

On a scrap of Basic White stamp the sentiment from Textured Floral stamp set in memento ink. Trim down and then lightly add some Summer Splash ink around the edges.

Add this to the bottom right hand corner, covering over the stem part of the leaf.
