Good Evening Everyone,
Today I'm taking part in the Stamp N Hop December Blog Hop and our theme is Shades of Colour - Colouring Techniques.
Anyone who knows me knows I absolutely love to colour so I was so excited when this theme came up. Although I how a pretty simple design, I'm sharing a few tips with the Enduring Beauty & Labeled with Love bundles.
Measurements
Basic Black Card Stock
1pc - 5 7/8" x 8 1/4", scored at 4 1/8"
1pc - 3 7/8" x 5 5/8"
Basic White Card Stock
1pc - 5 5/8" x 3 7/8"
1pc - scraps
-----------------------------------
Take the larger piece of Basic Black and fold along the score line to create your card base. Add the piece of Basic White to the inside.
Use the cross hatch print Embossing folder fro the basic embossing folder set to add detail to the smaller piece of Basic Black. Add this to the card front.
On a scrap stamp the large floral cluster in memento black ink. Once it is dry, take your Stampin Blends and colour in the flowers with Melon Mambo blends and the leaves with Shaded Spruce,
Cut this out using the coordinating die and your Stampin Cut & Emboss machine.
Now, take your Black Stampin Write marker, and colour in the remaining 'white space'. Add this onto the card front, slightly off to the left.
You will now see that you just see the flowers, stems and leaves now, so there is no white space to attract the eye away fro the detail, and you haven't had to spend a lot of time and concentration on fussy cutting.
Next, stamp the sentiment and the outline label image from the Labeled with Love stamped set onto another scrap and cut out using the punch or die. This is pretty and elegant left as it is, but I wanted a clean and simple, unfussy look, so take your Stampin Write marker in black and 'colour' in around all the edges to Create a solid black outline - this replicates the look of a mat layer.
Add this to the card front down to the lower right.
I really enjoyed creating this card today, please take a look at the list below and continue through the hop
