Creative Colour Challenges - #158

  Good AfternoonEveryone,

Happy Monday! I know this is a little late, I had a tricky time getting two little kiddies down to bed last night and then I ran into all sorts of delays today! But, as they say 'Better late than never? Right?

As you may or may not know - I run the Creative Colour Challenges blog. Each week three Stampin Up Colours are randomly selected and I ask you to create a projects using those colours! Some week's are easier than others - but what I do find is that there's a lot of inspiration given from those who participate, so I thought that on a Sunday, once I have announced the Winner of the Week's Challenge over on Creative Colour Challenges Blog, I'd hop on over here and share the entries with you in the hope that we can give everyone some more inspiration, and I will link to those I can (as anyone can enter, you don't have to have a blog or a website), so It's also my chance to share there work and show some support.

I do hope to continue this as long as possible, with the entry numbers as they are now, this is something I'm happy to work on, but if by some amazing force,  the numbers grow in strength I may have to reassess how I do this!

Sketched Butterflies Clean & Simple Thank You Card. Touches of Ink Blog Hop - September 2024

 Good Afternoon Everyone,

Today I'm hopping with the Fabulous Touches of Ink ladies. As always we don't have a set theme - just encouragement to use a suite or bundle.

I have chosen to use the Sketched Butterflies bundle for a super simple scrap busting card.

I took some strips of bright card to create a bold background behind my black & white butterfly. What do you think?

Measurements

Azure Afternoon Card Stock

1pc - 5 7/8" x 8 1/4" scored at 4 1/8"

Basic White Card Stock

2pc - 5 1/2" x 3 3/4"

scraps

Poppy Parade Card Stock

1pc - 1" x 2 3/4"

Lime Lemon Twist Card Stock

1pc - 1" x 2 3/4"

Flirty Flamingo Card Stock

1pc - 1" x 2 3/4"

Daffodil Delight Card Stock

1pc - 1" x 2 3/4"

------------------------------------

Take the Azure Afternoon and fold along the score line, and add one of the basic white pieces to the card front and the other to the inside of the card.

Lay a strip of Basic White in front of you, then pop on some glue. Line up the four coloured strips making sure they butt up against each other - trim off any of the Basic White that may be over hanging. Add Glue to the whole of the back of this and add to the centre of the card.

Ink up the sentiment and stamp along the bottom of this panel, as centrally as possible.

On a scrap of Basic White stamp the butterfly in memento and cut our with the coordinating die.

Add this above the sentiment with a dimensional.

I absolutely loved creating this card - these colours are fab together. And the layout would work with so many other combinations!

Please continue through the hop to get so much more amazing inspiration. Simone is up next, please go and say Hi.

Thanks Friend Labeled with Love Butterfly Card. The Project Share Embossing Blog Hop. September 2024

 Good Morning Everyone,

Happy Saturday! Today I'm taking part in this month's The Project Share Blog Hop and our theme is Embossing. There's two types of embossing - Dry & Heat.

Heat embossing uses Versamark clear ink, Powder and a Heat tool to create fabulously glossy accents to projects.

Dry embossing uses textured folder and a machine to manipulate a pattern onto some card or paper etc.

Today I've used Dry embossing to create a fun background. The embossing is pretty subtle on card, but I added some black ink to pick up all the raised detail - it's a bit dramatic, but it's unusual and I love it. Adding some butterflies give a little pop of colour.

What do you think?

Measurements

Basic Black Card Stock

1pc - 5 7/8" x 8 1/4", scored at 4 1/8"

Very Vanilla Card Stock

2pc - 3 7/8" x 5 5/8"

Scraps

-----------------------------------------------------

Take the Basic Black Card stock and fold along the score line to create your  card base, adding one of the Very Vanilla pieces to the inside.

On scraps of Very Vanilla stamp the Label border stamp three times and then cut out using the coordinating punch.

Bring in your Cut n Emboss machine and run the larger piece of Very Vanilla card stock through the embossing folder, then also run the three smaller punch outs through the same folder. Pop these three pieces to one side for later.

Lay the larger piece of embossed card in front of you and hold your memento ink so the pad is facing down. Now, gently slowly a lightly sweep the ink pad across to card. this will apply ink to the raised sections, you may have to go over it a few times to build up the coverage, but better that way than going in with a heavy hand and getting ink everywhere. One you are happy with the coverage and it's all dry, add this to the card front.

Position the three punch out label shapes across the centre of the card front.

On a scrap of Very Vanilla, stamp three of the butterfly outline images and add some colour to the bodies. Fussy cut and place one in each of the panels created.

Finally stamp the sentiment, trim and add to run along the bottom of the card front.

Please continue through the hop to get lots more inspiration from these three talented creators. Jayne is up next - click below to head to her page
