Thoughtful Expressions You're in my Thoughts Monotone Card. Monochromatic Insta Hop - Smoky Slate

 Good Afternoon Everyone,

I'm sharing a card I made for the Monochromatic Insta Hop a few weeks ago. I know I'm a little late, I'm a little behind on my blogging right now, but hopefully I'll be back on top of it all soon - I'm creating quicker and joining in challenges faster than I can write then all up at the minute.

Our colour for this hop was Smoky Slate, which is a lovely pale grey and I thought I'd make a simple card but using the Thoughtful Expressions stamp set really makes it special. The detail in these images is incredible and works so well in a grey line.

Measurements

Smoky Slate Card Stock

1pc - 4 1/8" x 11 3/4"

1pc - 5 5/8" x 3 7/8"

Basic White Card Stock

1pc - 5 5/8" x 3 7/8"

1pc - 4 1/2" x 3 7/8"

-------------------------------------------

Take the Smoky Slate card stock and fold along the score line to create your card base. Add the larger Basic White panel to the inside.

Ink up the large floral image in Smoky Slate and then stamp all over the remaining piece of Smoky Slate card stock.

Stamp the Hummingbird image on the remaining piece of basic white with Smoky Slate ink - off to the right hand side, so the wings are about 1/2" from the top. Add the sentiment towards to top left, then fill in the space around the hummingbird with the large floral cluster - all with smoky slate.

Add this panel to the centre of the stamped Smoky Slate card stock. It should fit exactly at either side, but you will have a wide smoky slate border top and bottom.

Glue this to the front of the card - Super simple, Minimal Supplies but a great effect. I love it in smoky slate, but i think this would also look great in lots of different colours

If you get a chance - pop over to Instagram and check out what all the other participants created - you won't be short of inspiration, I'm sure! Vickie Lou Designs - Instagram Page

The Project Share Project - 5th September 2024

 Good Morning Everyone,

Happy Thursday and welcome to The Project Share Project. Every Thursday we will all share an individual blog post sharing one project from each of the other creators - maybe an inspiring card, a very fancy fun fold or simply a project that made us smile.

Verity Pursglove

Verity shared two awesome cards featuring the Sketched Butterflies stamp set this week. I cannot tell you how much I love these. Bold colours, gorgeous butterflies and the nicest sentiment. Click on the link which will take you to the blog post for more details on the cards - https://inkybutterfly.com/2024/09/03/fun-card-layout-with-sketched-butterflies/

Heather Forgan

Heather created this stunning card with a very autumnal feel - I love the colours here. Using the Art & Texture stamp set and the Encircled in Nature Bundle, she really did nail the brief of the hop! Check out her blog to see how simple it is to create this fabulous card. . https://stampwithnellie.com/2024/09/01/autumnal-in-colors-card-stamp-around-uk-video-hop-september-2024/

Craft with Jayne

Finally we have Jayne, who created these fabulous gift pouches which contain a very cute Elf Foot Mask. She's used the Snowy Scenes DSP and the sweet sentiment is from Greetings of the Season. Head over to her blog to get more details - https://craftwithjayne.co.uk/2024/09/03/christmas-foot-mask-pack-snowy-scenes-craft-with-jayne-stampin-up/

Heartfelt Hexagon Sketched Butterflies Thank You Card. CAS Colours & Sketches #543

 Good Afternoon Everyone,

Today I'm taking part in CAS Colours & Sketches #543. The current challenge is a sketch layout and it's so simple, with so much scope.

I looked through my stash and I didn't have any circle punches or dies that would fit the exact sketch. But that's the beauty of being given a sketch you can use it as is exactly as it's laid out or you can have it guide an idea. So I have used my Heartfelt Hexagon Punch and off set the DSP shapes. Adding a sketched butterfly to each for a little more interest. What do you think?

Measurements

Thick Basic White Card Stock

1pc - 4 1/8" x 11 3/4", scored at 5 7/8"

Bright & Beautiful DSP

scraps

-------------------------------------------------

Take the Thick Basic White card stock and fold along the score line to create your card base.

Stamp the sentiment from Sketched Butterflies in Memento ink into the bottom right hand corner.

Cut out three Hexagon shapes from the Bright & Bold DSP. I chose to take one full piece of DSP and cut these out in a line, so that the pattern follows as it would on a sheet, but you can have different patterns per hexagon if you would like.

Stamp a Butterfly in memento ink on each of the hexagon altering the position slightly so they will be facing different ways.

Add these to the left side of the card front with dimensionals, making sure to keep even spacing. I found it easier to place the top and bottom hexagons first, then add the centre piece.

I hope you have enjoyed my card today - I really loved creating for this challenge. Be sure to pop on over and see what the challenges are all about, and maybe have a go at entering one - https://cascoloursandsketches.blogspot.com/

Creative Colour Challenges - #156

  Good Evening Everyone,

As you may or may not know - I run the Creative Colour Challenges blog. Each week three Stampin Up Colours are randomly selected and I ask you to create a projects using those colours! Some week's are easier than others - but what I do find is that there's a lot of inspiration given from those who participate, so I thought that on a Sunday, once I have announced the Winner of the Week's Challenge over on Creative Colour Challenges Blog, I'd hop on over here and share the entries with you in the hope that we can give everyone some more inspiration, and I will link to those I can (as anyone can enter, you don't have to have a blog or a website), so It's also my chance to share there work and show some support.

I do hope to continue this as long as possible, with the entry numbers as they are now, this is something I'm happy to work on, but if by some amazing force,  the numbers grow in strength I may have to reassess how I do this!
