Sketched Butterflies You Brighten my Day Card. Monochromatic Insta Hop - Cherry Cobbler

 Good Morning Everyone,

Today I'm sharing a card I made for the Monochromatic Insta Hop a few week's ago and our colour was Cherry Cobbler. I adore this shade - it's a lovely deep red tone.

I didn't want a solid block of colour, so instead of using the card stock I decided to create a fun effect on a Basic White Card Base. Ink and some sponges and blending brushes gave this amazing background for the beautiful sketched butterfly focal piece.

What do you think?

Measurements

Thick Basic White Card Stock

1pc - 5 7/8" x 8 1/4", scored at 4 1/8"

Basic White Card Stock

1pc - 4 1/2" x 3"

1pc - scrap

------------------------------------------

Take the Thick Basic White and fold along the score line to create your card base.

Lay out your Cherry Cobbler ink pad and using Sponges and blending brushes add ink to the whole piece. I wanted a very rough and textured effect so I was very blotchy with my application - creating lighter and darker spots. I didn't want it 'blended' smoothly either so I added the ink with dabbing and rough motions.

Ink up the sentiment in Memento Black Ink and stamp centrally along the bottom of the basic white mat layer.

Add dimensionals to the back and then add to the centre of the card front.

On a scrap of Basic White stamp the largest butterfly from Sketched Butterflies in Memento ink and once dry colour in using the Cherry Cobbler Stampin Blends. - I used both the light and dark tones to get different shades.

Cut out using the coordinating die and your Stampin Cut & Emboss Machine.

Place this into the centre of the card front adding dimensionals just to the body, that way you can lift up the wings and get even more depth.

I hope you have enjoyed my card today - I really love creating this fun background. It look awesome in Cherry Cobbler, but I will definitely be looking to cretae this with different colours in the future.

Creative Colour Challenges - #163

 Good Evening Everyone,

As you may or may not know - I run the Creative Colour Challenges blog. Each week three Stampin Up Colours are randomly selected and I ask you to create a projects using those colours! Some week's are easier than others - but what I do find is that there's a lot of inspiration given from those who participate, so I thought that on a Sunday, once I have announced the Winner of the Week's Challenge over on Creative Colour Challenges Blog, I'd hop on over here and share the entries with you in the hope that we can give everyone some more inspiration, and I will link to those I can (as anyone can enter, you don't have to have a blog or a website), so It's also my chance to share there work and show some support.

Love Endures All Things Splendid Autumn Card. Smart Stampin Facebook Hop September 2024

 Good Evening Everyone,

As I mentioned yesterday, my craft time has been dramatically reduced recently and although I've managed a few cards here and there - My Blog has been the most neglected. I've not been keeping up with putting my creations up on here - and I'm very sorry for that!

So, I'm working my way through the pile and will have them up for you as soon as I can, I will be adding them as soon as I can get them written up so I'll be up to date - soon - I hope! haha.

This card was made for the September Smart Stampin Facebook Hop and our theme was 'Fall in Love'. At first I was at a loss as to what I was going to make, then after flicking through my DSP I found this pattern from Splendid Autumn and used it along with the sentiments from Enduring Beauty. It's quick, it's simple and I think it looks fabulous.

What do you think?

Measurements

Mossy Meadow Card Stock

1pc - 4 1/8" x 11 3/4", scored at 5 7/8"

Splendid Autumn DSP

1pc - 4" x 3 3/4"

Basic White Card Stock

1pc - 5 5/8" x 3 7/8"

-----------------------------------

Take the Mossy Meadow Card Stock and fold along the score line to create your card base, adding the Basic White to the inside.

Ink up the sentiments in Early Espresso ink and stamp into the top right of the DSP, where you have some light sky space to help the sentiment stand out.

Add this panel to the card front.

That is it! Told you it was really simple. This DSP pack is so beautiful that I didn't want to cover up lots of the picture with a cluster of other 'bits' which may detract from the image. You can of course embellish away if you'd prefer, but I love the simplicity of this design.
